David Hug M.D., FAAP, FACP

 

 

Dr. Hug is a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his four year residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He  received the Zimmerman Award for outstanding clinical judgment, leadership and integrity.  Dr. Hug completed a Chief Residency in Internal Medicine. He joined our practice in 1995. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics since 1994.

Dr. Hug has been named to the Best Doctors list over a dozen times. Has has also been named a Metro Parent Mom Approved Doc and has been listed in Hour Detroit Magazine’s Top Doctor issues. Dr. Hug has also been named a Blue Care Network Blue Ribbon Physician for outstanding patient satisfaction.

Dr. Hug has been involved in the instruction of medical students and residents through his career.   He is an Assistant Professor at the Oakland University-William Beaumont School of Medicine.  He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Wayne State University School of Medicine.

Dr. Hug is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics and is also a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Hug has been a member of the Board of Directors of United Physicians (the physician organization that assists physicians in the Beaumont Health System) since 2009.   Dr. Hug is also a member of the Board of Directors of Beaumont Care Partners (the Clinical Integration Network for the Beaumont Health System and its physician partners).

Dr. Hug is married, and he and his wife are very proud of their two children.
